coming this September…

IS IT TOO SOON TO TALK ABOUT THE END OF SUMMER?

EVEN IF IT IS, I AM STILL GOING TO TELL YOU ABOUT WHATS HAPPENING THIS SEPTEMBER IN GARSTON VILLAGE.

The Gratitude Project’s aim is to bring people together through positivity and gratitude as during these times especially, it is a daily battle not to fall into the trap of negativity.

Harvard Health Publishing states,

“In positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships. People feel and express gratitude in multiple ways.”

The Gratitude Project Workshops are community based sessions with the motive to get creative, boost confidence and be inclusive. Working with communities is a big part of the projects values as well are the curiosity and the need to help others. Documenting and curating an online exhibition that can be accessible to a large number of people within the community. Non-artist, as well as artists, can get involved.

The Gratitude Project can be a series that the participants develop a mind map full of things that they are grateful for, no matter how big or small. Each session will have a different resource or technique for you to explore and experiment with, creating your own creation to take home.

The workshops include brain-storming, timed artworks, experimentation time, producing a final piece and an artist statement.

THE GRATITUDE PROJECT WILL BE FOR 6 WEEKS,

AT GARSTON CHILDREN’S CENTRE.

UNDER 18S MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
